Kody Brown wants to escape his complicated family life by leaving the United States.
On the Sunday, January 5, episode of Sister Wives, the 55-year-old reality TV personality had an in-depth conversation with his wife, Robyn Brown, about him moving forward as a monogamist, as his other three wives have left him. Kody was previously in a plural marriage with Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, Christine Brown, and Robyn.
“I got an itch to move so bad, just to get away from the energy of it all,” Kody told the camera in his confessional.
Kody said he wants to move to Europe but admitted it would be hard since some of his 18 kids, whom he shares between the four women, are still in school.
“I got to get out of here because this isn’t going to work for me, because all the memory, all the energy of it, I just don’t know,” he stated. “And here’s the stupid thing. I’ve got kids in college, kids in grade school — but I want to move to Europe.”
Kody would not be the first member of his family to move out of Arizona, as Christine and Meri moved to Utah, making Janelle his only ex-wife left in the state.
“I want to get away from this where I can’t see it or be bombarded by it or feel it anymore,” the TLC star confessed.
Kody spiritually married Christine in 1994, and she was the first to leave him in 2021. Kody and Janelle were spiritually married in 1993, and she called it quits in 2022. Meri, with whom Kody legally wed in 1990, divorced Kody in 2014 so he could marry Robyn and adopt her children from a previous marriage. However, Meri didn’t end her relationship with Kody until 2023.
Throughout the season, it was clear that Kody’s strained relationship with his former wives and children affected his marriage to Robyn.
Regarding Kody’s contentious relationships with some of his kids, Robyn told her husband in an October episode, “I’m having a hard time not like feeling like losing respect for you a little.”
