Major TV Shake-Up 🚨 Big Brother Coverage Could Disappear in Canada After BB28 — Fans Fear the Franchise Is Being Pushed Aside
Big Brother fans who watch coverage through Global TV just got some really bad news.
The network will end its coverage of the USA-based reality competition show.
Big Brother USA has aired on Global TV since the show began in 2000, providing an easy way for Canadian viewers to watch each summer.
Recently, Big Brother: Canada was also canceled, making this even more frustrating news for viewers who have relied on Global TV.
The end of Big Brother USA on Global TV
“We are incredibly proud to have been the Canadian home of Big Brother since its launch in 2000, bringing this series to audiences nationwide,” Jennifer Abrams stated.
She is the senior vice-president for content and marketing at Corus Entertainment. That’s the parent company for Global TV.
“As we look ahead, we’ve made the decision to move on from the series and refresh Global’s summer lineup. We are excited about the new programming opportunities this transition creates for Global’s schedule in the coming year and remain committed to delivering high-impact summer content, with a focus on broad, mainstream hits and new formats designed to engage audiences across both linear and streaming,” she elaborated.
The only good news is that Global TV still plans to air Big Brother 28 this summer. The network has already been advertising the new season.
Viewers who watch through CBS or on Paramount+ will still have access.
Details about the Big Brother 28 season
