Baylen Out Loud star Baylen Dupree got real about her Tourette’s journey on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast. Before COVID, her tics were mild. Then the pandemic hit, and everything changed. Her symptoms got way worse. She knew she needed help. But when she saw a neurologist, things didn’t go as hoped. The doctor basically dismissed her and told her she could not live her life normally. It’s one of the rarer symptoms of Tourette’s, but it shows up constantly throughout the show. Baylen’s tics are exacerbated by stress and her environment. In the past, quiet places like libraries also triggered her tics.

Airports are one of Baylen’s biggest tic triggers. The crowds, noise, and chaos send her tics into overdrive. In this clip alone, she blurts out “I have a gun” and “bald bitch” – totally involuntary, but obviously terrifying in an airport setting. However, getting through airports used to be a nightmare, but disability assistance has been a real game-changer for her. It helps her skip the overwhelming queues and crowded areas, which tremendously eases her tics.
