Kody Brown is ready to make amends.
In PEOPLEâs exclusive look at Sister Wivesâ season 20 mid-season trailer, the family patriarch decides to apologize to exes Meri, Janelle and Christine, along with his current wife, Robyn. However, they are skeptical of his motives as they attempt to move on with their lives.
âAfter that whole experience in Coyote Pass, I want to set them free,â Kody explains, referring to the years-long end to the drama involving the sale of land which they bought when married.
During a conversation with husband David Woolley, Christine acknowledges that Kody âwants to extend an olive branch,â but also notes, âI need to know what the motive is.â
âI don’t have a lot of trust with Kody,â she admits.

âI am walking into an environment where trust has been killed,â Kody tells cameras before coming face-to-face with Christine and David.
Kody tells them: âSuck those beers down, because I got some fun stuff to share with you.â
Christine responds, âNow I’m nervous,â and further expresses her doubts about what Kody has to say. âAs far as extending an olive branch, I think there’ll be hidden barbs in there.â
When Kody declares that heâs sorry âfor saying I didn’t love you,â Christine doesnât take it the way he expected.
âThis is my husband here,â she says. âWhy do you think this is appropriate?â
Janelle, who is shown with her friends celebrating âgetting a new man,â appears to shares Christineâs reluctance to accept Kodyâs apology. âWow,â she exclaims.
Meanwhile, Meri introduces a love interest as well, gushing that sheâs âso happyâ when sheâs around him.
Ron and Meri Brown.
âRon is in town and I can’t help but smile,â she says. âI met Ron at a speed dating event.â
When it comes to her conversation with Kody, he reveals that he is âa little bit nervous thinking that it could go really, really wrong.â
âAn apology is so needed here because this is still so toxic,â he shares with Meri, who asks, âDo you apologize that you are toxic to me?â
In her confessional, she slams her ex, saying: âHis energy f—- with my energy.â
âYouâve got to stop with the apologize word,â she then tells him. âThe more you use it, the more it feels insincere.â
The final apology goes to Robyn, who joined the sister wives in 2010 and is now in a monogamous relationship with Kody after his splits from his other three wives.
âWe’ve had a hard run,â she says, growing teary-eyed. âI think I owe you an apology.â

The end of the trailer also offers a sneak peek at the castâs one-on-one tell all interviews, which largely revolve around the sale of Coyote Pass.
Kody notes that they had âsome agreement problemsâ along the way, and accuses Janelle of âtrying to make a backdoor dealâ that he didnât think Meri knew about, but evidently, she was aware.
âI think Kody and Janelle were trying to kick me out,â she says, later admitting: âIt was all about silencing me. So when they say, âMeri was stopping it,â damn right I was.â

At one point, Robyn sobs as she reveals that she isnât always on Kodyâs side despite still being married to him: âI do not agree with things that he does. I do not agree with his attitudes.â
While talking to Christine, tell-all host Sukanya Krishnan says that Kody âregrets not apologizing for saying that you were not attractive,â which she admits âmakes me mad.â
âIf he ever says that to me, I will become unglued,â she adds.
The preview concludes with a bombshell statement from Kody, who declares, âYour wife’s having an affair and your other wife tells you. That’s my business!â
